How will this affect my charging schedule?
We start with your preferences. When you sign up for Optiwatt, you give us the times you need your car. From there, we look at hourly rates and charge during the cheapest times to save you money while hitting your desired “Ready By” charge limit and time for each day. You can set up your “Ready By” time schedule for each day of the week in our app.
Can I override Optiwatt?
Yes, if you need to start or stop your EV charging, you can do that immediately. Similarly, you can always change your thermostat settings immediately if you feel cold or hot.
How will this affect my smart thermostat schedule?
You also set your home temperature settings first, including how much you'd be willing to change your thermostat to save money. When the time comes (for example, a hot summer day), we'll automatically shift your thermostat by a small amount (for example, 1-2 degrees) to reduce usage during high-cost hours. We may also pre-cool or pre-heat your house before high-cost hours to keep you comfortable while we lower your bill. Note that you don’t have to let Optiwatt control your thermostat. You can also control it yourself, although that can be time-consuming since you’d have to look up the hourly rates.
Who's eligible for this pilot program?
PG&E customers who are on the E-ELEC or EV2-A rate plans are eligible for this pilot. If you're not on one of those rates, you must switch to one in order to apply for the program. Optiwatt can help you decide if switching makes sense. Just apply or email us at support@optiwatt.com

When do I get my $50 gift card?
